Reporting Structure
As the Mechanic for FSD Iraq, you will report issues/problems with maintenance and repair directly to your Team Leader or Supervisor.
Working Hours
All operational staff will work an 8-hour working day, five days a week. This may be varied due to operational dispositional and tempo. Work timings will vary during the year dependent on weather conditions/security situation/access issues etc.
Expectations
Due to the nature of the position, flexibility is essential. Some overtime will be required, and duties may need to be performed which are additional to those listed above. The mechanic should be able to work with no supervision and also be able to work as part of a close team. Travel to other sectors will be required.

General Description
The FSD Iraq Mechanic repairs and maintains all FSD Iraq plant machinery and vehicles, this may be carried out in the field or designated repair locations. The duties require the use of tools and specialized equipment to ensure functionality and reliability of machines, engines and mechanical systems, fault finding, understanding of SOP’s and using their own initiative, accountability and cooperation skills. Understanding and acknowledge of FSD’s Principles, Procedures and Policies is mandatory.
Objective
The mechanic is responsible for supervising the mechanics in carrying out the day-to-day maintenance and repair of all FSD Iraq’s vehicle, mechanical, and generator fleet. The Mechanic is also responsible for giving technical advice and support to the mechanics in the event of any technical problems that may be encountered.
