Job Description

Training:
• Develop Lesson Plans, Power Point presentations and Formative/Summative Assessments for approval by the
STM.
• Deliver training on Improvised Mine Field Clearance, Building Search/Clearance (Improvised Devices),
Conventional Battle Area Clearance, Conventional Mine Field Clearance in accordance with approved
Training Management Plans (TMPs) as directed by the NTM.
• Deliver training on live demolitions acting as a Range Conducting Officer (RCO).
• Conduct student assessments as directed by the NTM.
• Conduct annual assessments on operational staff as directed by the STM
• Conduct Training Needs Assessments (TNA) as directed by the STM.
• Contribute to the review, development and revision of SOPs and TMPs as appropriate.
• Contribute to the development of new training and support trials of new equipment.
• Facilitate the training of supervisors in techniques and skills for training; to assist in the delivery of training
courses.
• Responsible for management, maintenance and upgrading of all training equipment ensuring they meet the
requirements of the training provided.
• Responsible for all training aids and training materials produced and held at the Training School and
supporting QA inspections of training aids and training materials within the programme, reporting all Free
From Explosives (FFE) violations to the STM.
• Interpret for International staff in the field and during meetings ensuring clear and effective communication.
• Maintain the Training School database of qualifications, certificates and course reports.
• Ensure all qualifications and course reports are produced prior to the students’ departure and provided to HR
in a timely manner.

 

Technical:
• Ensure full knowledge of and ensure implementation of all MAG SOPs, drills and other work practices.
• Ensure an in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of all mines and munitions in the theatre of operations.
• Contribute to the Training School’s Reference Library.

 

Qualifications & requirements

Essential:
• An excellent command of spoken and written English.
• An excellent command of spoken and written Kurdish.
• An excellent command of spoken and written Arabic
• The ability to translate documents from English into Kurdish and Arabic and vice versa.
• The ability to interpret during lessons from English to Kurdish and Arabic and vice versa.
• Ability to use basic Microsoft programmes to write reports
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Administrative skills and ability to take minutes of meetings.
• High level of self-motivation.
• An understanding of NGOs.
• A commitment to humanitarian work.
• Ability to travel/ stay in the field when necessary
Qualifications Relevant and recognized EOD/demining/IED qualification to fulfil organizational
needs or suitable practical experience
• EOD Level 3
• IEDD Building Search
• Site Supervisor
• Quality Management
• A recognised Instructor qualification
