Responsibilities
A. Leading the design and development of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, ensuring they meet project requirements and comply with building codes and regulations.
B. Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into overall building design and construction plans.
C. Conducting feasibility studies and analyzing technical specifications to determine the most efficient and cost-effective mechanical solutions for the project.
D. Overseeing the preparation of detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documents for mechanical systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
E. Managing and coordinating the work of junior engineers, designers, and technicians involved in the mechanical design and installation process.
F. Conducting site visits and inspections to assess progress, identify issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
G. Providing technical support and guidance to construction teams during installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
H. Resolving any design or construction-related challenges that arise during the project, implementing timely and effective solutions.
I. Communicating regularly with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates on mechanical engineering activities and address any concerns or issues.
J. Participating in project meetings, reviews, and discussions to contribute expertise and ensure successful project delivery within budget and schedule constraints.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
K. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
L. 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering preferably in the construction or steel industry.
Preferred skills
M. Proficiency in computer-aided design software and other relevant engineering software tools used for design, analysis, and project management.
N. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and components commonly used in construction projects, such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
O. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
P. Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to mechanical systems design and construction.
Q. Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that may arise.
R. Demonstrated precision and strong attention to detail, insuring accuracy in designs.
