Position: Optics Support Engineer
Duty Location: Erbil
Job Description: The Optics Support Engineer will be under the supervision of the NOC Manager to achieve our business’ digital goals. The Engineer will be responsible for, Optics network monitoring, troubleshooting the cases and incidents, following the tickets for the customers, and escalating specific cases to the back office and higher-level support.
Responsibilities:
• Investigate and troubleshoot problems that have been escalated by Service Desk.
• Monitoring daily network performance of SDH / DWDM network from TSH and service creation perspective.
• Work and interact with other team members and other related departments.
• Working on Monitoring Systems (NMS).
• Working on Shifts.
• Reviewing the handover sheets from previous shifts and trying to finalize and close open incidents.

Qualifications:
• BSc in telecommunication engineering or relevant field
• Deep knowledge of using tools as OTDRs, Fiber Tester and Analyzer
• Hands on experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Optical products with specific focus on OTN, SONET, SDH, TDM, DWDM and EoSDH protocols and standards.
• In depth understanding of Optical transmission power levels, OSNR and the effects fiber impairments such as Chromatic dispersion.
• One to two years of experience in telecommunication.
