Job Summary Under the direct supervision of the pathologist. Prepares surgical Grossing area, biopsies, slides for microscopic study of tissues by the pathologist. Enters information into the LIS and adheres to the strict hospital quality guidelines. Provide accurate, timely and cost-effective testing of patient samples in compliance and harmony with the quality management system. The lab technician has no supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Education BSC Degree. Preferably in Medical or Lab Technology Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience Professional certification Ministry of Health Very good command of written and spoken English Skills and Qualifications Familiar with all varying departments. Able to work with the all instruments throughout the lab Basic Medical Technology skills. Familiarity with computer skills including (Microsoft, Windows, word, and Excel), Familiarity with desktop computing environment including (Microsoft, Windows, word, and Excel) Basic knowledge of pathology Good knowledge of staining techniques Good knowledge of Histopathology techniques such as cutting, embedding and tissue staining.
