JOB TITLE: Lifting Supervisor

WORK LOCATION: Iraq

BUSINESS UNIT: CPECC Middle East Branch

DEPARTMENT: HSSE Manager

ROTATION: 28/28 days

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Inspect & Certify Cranes and mobile lifting equipment to be used on Project operations.
  • Audit potential Sub-Contractors, Their practices and procedures and their holding of cranes and mobile lifting equipment.
  • Create lifting plans in support of Construction.
  • Participate in audits, inspections and safety observation tours as directed by the Line manager to clients.
  • Comply with client procedures and checklists to ensure all the tasks are completed with full regard to safety Health and Environment.
  • Understand and ensure that Sub-Contractors comply with key safe systems of work such as but not limited to:
  • Recognition, Risk Assessment & Mitigation of hazards.
  • Permit to work

o Tool Box Talks

o PPE

o Rigging, slinging & lifting techniques

o Working at heights

o Dropped objects & Trip Hazards

o H2S

o Confined space entry.

o Chemical Hazards

o Excavations

 

  • Support the planning, Issue & control of work permits.
  • Report All HSE Incidents and advise and assist with incident investigations.
  • Provide expertise in own discipline as a technical authority.
  • Liaise with Project Engineers on Construction issues.
  • Provide technical input into modification work packs.
  • Answer technical queries and guide Sub-Contract personnel on best practices.
  • Provide expertise in own discipline, Liaising with training suppliers, Vendors and support personnel.
  • Lead on root cause analysis as required by clients.
  • Provide support to the project team and client.
  • Advise on document control and holdings.
  • Provide input into the planning process.

Qualifications & requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas Construction/Maintenance projects working in a multinational workforce environment.
  • Must have supervisory or managerial level experience in the last 5 years.
  • CPCS Blue or Gold Card or above Certification is required.
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Certified by OSHA/IOSH/NEBOSH is an added advantage.
