Job Description

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

• Responsible for the oversight of all day to day transaction accounting including Accounts Payable, Petty Cash and Operations Accountant as well as all month end closing transactions inclusive of other monthly reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Control and Reporting

• Ensures that the financial position of TAQA is accurately reported within the approved timescales and that all reports, statements and disclosures are met
• Accurately enters financial data relating to all expense & asset accounts
• Investigates and resolves any issues relating to variances in the accounts
• Answer queries relating to vendor accounts
• Responsible for Masterfile within Oracle AFE and JVA modules

Month End Accounting

• Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approvals prior to payment
• Coordinates invoice payments with Iraq AP in Abu Dhabi
• Completes monthly JVA closing
• Maintains General Ledgers account reconciliations
• Works closely with the financial accountant for month end close.
• Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
• Fixed Assets Verification
• Control over Inventories
• Assists with other projects as needed.
