About Human Appeal
Human Appeal (HA) is a British humanitarian, non-governmental and non-profit organisation that works in 25 countries around the world since 1991. Human Appeal has been operating in Iraq since 2016. Human Appeal currently has almost 400 staff across numerous locations in Iraq, including Erbil, Duhok, Nineveh, Salah al Din, Kirkuk and Baghdad. Human Appeal Iraq’s country office is in Erbil with sub-offices in Mosul, Tikrit, Baghdad and Aana. Human Appeal has and is delivering over $50 million in humanitarian and early-recovery assistance in 2017-18. Human Appeal is working in a number of thematic sectors: primarily in protection; shelter and non-food items; food security and livelihoods; WASH; and education. Human Appeal’s main donors include UNHCR, UNOCHA, WFP and numerous other international institutional partners
Fulfilling the request from HQ to ensure an effective closure of old projects, HA Iraq is rolling out the engagement one temporary intern/enumerator who will support the country office in reviewing all past projects from 2017 onwards and create 1 excel sheet to document the CO achievements and highlight any pending/outstanding payments, activities, reports etc. This will support the improvement of the CO’s project cycle managements overall systems.
The process will involve all relevant departments of the organization for ensuring total quality management of the projects.
The objective of this Terms of Reference is to ensure that all old project records are properly archived, classified, stored, and easily accessible for future reference and use.
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer and technical guidance from Programme Manager and Country Director, the Archiving Intern will carry out the following activities:
The Archiving Intern will fully report to HA Iraq Country Officer during normal working hours (from 9:00am – 5:00pm). With the support of HA Iraq team, they will be given a detailed checklist that will guide them to crosscheck against project documents in place and then fill in the gap where possible.
The Archiving Intern will also be in touch with finance, procurement, and program teams to gather all necessary project information to contribute to a quality closure of all projects.
They will conduct a desk review to examine the available project documents against the minimum required standards for project closure.
The Archiving Intern will also develop all necessary project documents to ensure that HA Iraq meets the minimum standards required for such a process.
5.DURATION OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The duration of the assignment will be two weeks; subject to amendment depending on the review of the task before signing the contract.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience working in an archival or record-keeping role is preferred
