Job Description: HR Officer

Position Title: HR Officer
Location: [Duhok]
Reporting To: HR Manager
Employment Type: (Full-time)

Key Responsibilities

  1. Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, interviews, and reference checks.
  • Prepare employment contracts and coordinate onboarding for new hires.
  • Maintain updated job descriptions and organizational structure charts.
  1. Employee Relations and Engagement
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and resolving issues.
  • Organize team-building activities, training sessions, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture, promoting diversity and inclusivity.
  1. HR Administration
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including contracts, leave, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal HR policies.
  • Manage payroll processing in collaboration with the finance team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  1. Performance Management
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of performance appraisal systems.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance improvement plans.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify training needs.
  1. Policy Development and Compliance
  • Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, health, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and manage workplace grievances and disciplinary actions.
  1. Capacity Building
  • Identify training and development needs and coordinate training programs.
  • Provide orientation and capacity-building support to staff on HR policies and workplace ethics.

 

Qualifications & requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum three years of experience in an HR role, preferably in the nonprofit or development sector.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong understanding of Iraqi labor laws and HR best practices.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
