Position Overview:
The fundraising manager plays a crucial role in developing and executing fundraising strategies to support the financial sustainability and growth of Yak Dar. This role involves managing relationships with donors, cultivating new funding opportunities, and overseeing various fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Fundraising Strategies: Design and implement comprehensive fundraising plans aligned with the organization’s mission, goals, and financial needs.
Donor Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and other funding sources. This involves regular communication, acknowledgement of donations, and stewardship activities to ensure donor retention.
Prospect Research: Identify and research potential new donors and funding opportunities. This includes analyzing donor databases, researching philanthropic trends, and networking within the community to expand the organization’s donor base.
Grant Writing and Management: Prepare compelling grant proposals and funding applications tailored to the requirements of various grant-making organizations. Manage the grant application process, including deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance.
Online Fundraising: Utilize online platforms and digital marketing strategies to engage donors, promote fundraising campaigns, and solicit donations through crowdfunding, peer-to-peer fundraising, and social media channels.
Budgeting and Financial Reporting: Develop and monitor fundraising budgets in coordination with the Finance Department.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as communications, and program management, to integrate fundraising initiatives with broader organizational strategies and activities.
Compliance and Ethics: Ensure fundraising activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards, including donor privacy and data protection regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, marketing, communications, English, Translation or related field.
Proven experience in fundraising is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and inspire confidence with donors, volunteers, and colleagues.
Strong writing skills, including grant writing, proposal development, and donor correspondence are a must.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
