• Transport staff members to various destinations as and when required, within the boundaries of the Al-Mesalla Security Policies and Procedures for Iraq;
• Personally, responsible for the safety and security of all passengers entrusted to his care;
• Must have a detailed working knowledge of the security policies and procedures for GOI & KRI, particularly about transportation of NGO personnel;
• Strictly adhere to all Al-Mesalla security rules and regulations at all times;
• Planning of routes, in conjunction with the Finance and Logistics Manager and, ensuring the safety of passengers at all times;
• Ensure that the vehicle is fully operational and well-maintained including inventory of all the necessary communication and emergency equipment readily available and tightly secured in their assigned vehicles such as first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, serviceable spare wheel, wheel changing kit, spare keys, torch, spare water, jumper cable & tow rope;
• Maintain vehicle log books for daily trips and keep records of mileage and fuel consumption of each vehicle;
• Ensure that the vehicle is regularly maintained in accordance to service records of the vehicle and when required;
• Ensure that the vehicle is in good operational condition: conducting daily checks (oil, fuel, brakes, tires, battery, tool kits) on vehicle and before the commencement of any trip/mission, and any defects sent for immediate repair and maintenance;
• Ability to carry out minor mechanical emergency repairs on vehicle as and when required;
• Maintain close communication with nominated staff member during all movements;
• A minimum of Secondary/high school, plus a combination of relevant driving certification/ diploma or other academic qualifications and training.
• Must have at least minimum of 3 years of holding driving license. Must have vast experience of driving in the Governorates of Mosul, and Erbil .
• Previous training and expertise as a Security Team Driver and Security Focal Point is highly desirable.
• Fluency in spoken Arabic, and Kurdish is plus.
• High levels of competence with safety & security equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work across departments and offices
• Excellent judgment skills and ability to resolve complex problems
• Ability to travel within GOI & KRI as required and detailed knowledge of the landscape is essential
