Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing HSE-related support to line management in the implementation of the HSE Plan, Policy, procedures and practices.
  • Support Senior Drilling HSE Advisor in the development and administration of HSE strategies and provide leadership in the implementation of HSE management systems in accordance with GKPI requirements.
  • Administer the HSE activities in alignment with GKPI policies and procedures.
  • Administer and review contractor HSE programs in conjunction with the Senior Drilling HSE Advisor.
  • Administer safe work permit program.
  • Regular HSE reporting to senior Drilling HSE Advisor and key personnel.
  • Schedule and perform regular inspections, audit and site walk throughs with assistance from Senior Drilling HSE Advisor.
  • Oversee behaviour-based observation program and manage the database under direction of Senior Drilling HSE Advisor.
  • Provide interpretation of appropriate safety legislation and information to local employees.
  • Administer and support incident management protocol inclusive of root cause analysis and identification of preventative measures/actions in conjunction with Senior Drilling HSE Advisor.
  • Attend regular scheduled HSE meetings with contractors.
  • Support site orientation and on-boarding process for all workers.
  • Support and facilitate the planning, resourcing and the implementation of HSE initiatives in conjunction with Senior Drilling HSE Advisor.

Qualifications & requirements

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Technical vocational training
  • IOSH Certificate.
  • Worker Safety Awareness Level
  • Full working knowledge of Rig operational activities.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the above at a hydrocarbon facility and Rig site experience.
  • Native Kurdish with good levels of written and spoken in English and Arabic language.
  • Environmental awareness and legislative requirements.
  • Computer literate to make reports in word and excel
  • Professional knowledge of items in essential duties.
  • Effective and supportive team member.
  • Capable of clear communication between team members
