Job Description

Under the supervision of the Line Manager, the Doctor will conduct screening for children (U18) in Erbil Urban areas and below are the main duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevention.
Keep the patient and/or his/her family/their supervisors informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to follow.
Refer patients to relevant health facilities, when needed, for further and proper interventions.
Prescribe drugs and medications according to the diagnosis and standard clinical protocols.
Contribute to the supervision of the quality of disinfection and sterilization processes.
Ensure patients follow- up and document all information.
awareness raising: Educate patients on health topics, in coordination with the medical team and support the awareness sessions delivery, in collaboration with the medical and non-medical staff.

Qualifications & requirements

Education:

Medical Doctor bachelor’s degree M.B.Ch.B

Requirements:

Doctor of Medicine degree and valid license to practice the profession
To be registered with DoH – Erbil
Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics, especially in eyes, ears, nose, skin, throat…etc
Excellent knowledge of infectious diseases, their symptoms and epidemiology
Broad knowledge of common medication, side effects and contraindications
In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices
Computer and basic IT skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially with the beneficiaries (children)
Respect for patient’s confidentiality
Compassionate and approachable
Responsible and trustworthy
The doctor could be: Pediatric, Family Medicine, or Senior Resident
Ability to work under pressure
Knowledge and Ability to talk local language (Kurdish), knowing Arabic is an advantage
