About SEED Foundation: SEED Foundation is a registered NGO in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. SEED’s mission is to protect, empower, and support the recovery of survivors of violence and others at risk. SEED is committed to delivering high quality, holistic approaches, which combine international expertise and local know-how to achieve results for the people of Iraq and Kurdistan Region. SEED’s programming focuses on three key objectives: 1) the delivery of transformational, comprehensive services including case management, mental health, and legal services, as well as psychosocial support activities; 2) strengthening the capacity of service providers through education, training, and capacity-development programs; and 3) promoting policy and social change to strengthen the rights of, and protections for, vulnerable groups and individuals through public awareness, technical assistance, and advocacy.




Role of the Training Projects Manager (PM):

The Projects Manager (PM) works in SEED’s office in Erbil with regular travel to other sites within KRI. The PM supports programs and projects design and development, project implementation, M&E, and reporting for SEED programs and projects for training projects across SEED’s program portfolio. The PM leads planning, documentation, implementation of training activities over the projects managed. The PM will also represent SEED with other organizations, donors, and may liaise with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). The PM is responsible for coordinating and implementing daily management of program activities and program staff, ensuring appropriate systems and support mechanisms are in place to track, analyze and report on results. 




Specific Tasks:

Project and Team Management: 

  • Assist Training Programs Manager with all aspects of program and project planning and implementation including design, analysis, research, giving and getting technical expertise, coordination across SEED technical and programmatic staff and management; estimating costs, determining/assigning resources, developing operational documentation including procurements and recruitments, plan and designate resources, prepare budgets in link with training activities and objectives.
  • Track, monitor and assess progress on training projects objectives, activities, and targets. 
  • Assist with management of the budget, spending plans related to training in coordination with the Training Programs Manager.
  • Identify challenges, make recommendations for course correction, and ensure steps taken to have progress on track.
  • Lead the process of all projects reporting on the training objectives  including collecting data and inputs from all program managers and staff, development of the training impact reports and other reporting needs as required.
  • Oversee training and hands-on capacity building implementation, ensuring that all activities are in line with organizational priorities, international standards, follow humanitarian principles, remain needs-based and are implemented in full compliance with donor regulations and SEED Foundation policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that training program implementation is conducted with respect to the security protocols, responsive to communities and partners and consistent with SEED Foundation’s relevant program guidelines, principles, values, quality standards and strategic plan.
  • Ensure training program implementation is on time, progressing towards targets and within budget, with the support of program directors and managers.
  • Attend all training and workshop activities to oversee the implementation and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Produce quality program reporting on the training objectives and contribute to monitoring and evaluation systems for both internal and external use, alongside the Monitoring & Evaluation team.
  • Facilitate information sharing among team members about contextual updates, coordination and reporting mechanisms.
  • Manage training staff as appropriate, including development of work plans, conduct of appraisals and provision of feedback and guidance.
  • Help team members identify problem solving options and ensure the integration of all team members into relevant decision-making processes.
  • Identify any gaps or capacity needs within the team and ensure training and capacity building is incorporated into program planning.
  • Develop and maintain a list of reporting deadlines for grants and play a key role in collection of training related data, ensuring accuracy of data, and report writing.
  • Adhere to all SEED Foundation procurement, logistics and administrative regulations related to programming.
  • Set projects/training activities directions by prioritizing and organizing actions & resources to achieve objectives.
  • Develop and contribute to the creation of policies, procedures and approaches that assist and improve SEED programs and interventions related to MHPSS, GBV, Protection, Education, Training & Education programming.
  • Work with the Training Programs Manager in the implementation of training program strategies to meet the needs of trainees.

 

Communications, Coordination, and Organizational Representation:

  • Oversee the preparation of all communications materials linked with training including flyers, social media posts, website content, awareness materials, etc.
  • Represent SEED with donors, KRG, UN, and other NGOs.
  • Establish and manage the relationship with key KRG ministries and departments as MoI, DCVAW and MoLSA among others.
  • Identify, build and manage collaborative partnerships with other humanitarian partners, coordination bodies, local authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate training’s project goals effectively to ensure overall project targets and donor obligations are met.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders including donors, government actors, UN agencies, international and local NGOs.
  • Work closely with project partners.
  • Work closely with the M&E Manager, develop and contribute to the creation of M&E systems for training.
  • Ensure that M&E systems provide adequate feedback to inform training program development and course correction as necessary.

Qualifications & requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in social work, psychology, international development, management, or other relevant degree
  • At least five years of NGO project management experience in international settings including project design, implementation, budget management, staff management, and MEAL.
  • Compassionate, confident, dynamic and independent leader. 
  • Experience designing and creating training and capacity building programs
  • Experience managing staff;s
  • Experience in IRAQ and contextual familiarity with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region is highly desirable.
  • Experience is working/partnering with Kurdistan regional government 
  • Strong belief in human rights and gender equality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and persuasion skills
  • Strong ability to work independently, including the ability to multitask, prioritize competing tasks, and manage time effectively
  • High level of organization, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • High standard of spoken and written English and Kurdish, Arabic desirable. 
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work in a stressful setting and adapt quickly to changing environments
  • Strong people and project management skills; Strong leadership skills.
