About SEED Foundation:

The SEED Foundation is a registered NGO in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. SEED’s mission is to protect, empower, and support the recovery of survivors of violence and others at risk. SEED is committed to delivering high quality, holistic approaches, which combine international expertise and local know-how to achieve results for the people of Iraq and Kurdistan Region. SEED’s programming focuses on three key objectives: 1) the delivery of transformational, comprehensive services including case management, mental health, and legal services, as well as psychosocial support activities; 2) strengthening the capacity of service providers through education, training, and capacity-development programs; and 3) ​promoting policy and social change to strengthen the rights of, and protections for, vulnerable groups and individuals through public awareness, technical assistance, and advocacy.

Role of the Software Developer:

We are seeking a skilled software developer to join our team and assist with maintaining and updating our WordPress website, creating new websites, managing domains and hosting, making configurations on Odoo Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, and providing support to the IT Unit. The software developer will be responsible for achieving the goals and objectives of the IT Unit in the Operations Department, which are aligned with the values, mission, and vision of SEED Foundation. The main roles and responsibilities of the software developer include managing our main website, domains, and hosting, as well as developing new platforms and sub-websites.

Specific Tasks:

• Maintain and update WordPress websites, ensuring that it remains functional, up to date, and secure, as well as adding new functionalities.
• Create new websites for various projects and initiatives. This includes collaborating with other team members to determine the requirements for the new website, designing and developing the websites.
• Manage domains and hosting. This includes managing Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates, monitoring server performance to ensure optimal website speed and uptime.
• Make configurations on Odoo ERP Platform. This includes adding or modifying fields, customizing workflows, and configuring reports to meet the needs of the organization.
• Implement and manage website backups and disaster recovery plans. This includes developing and implementing backup and recovery procedures, and testing backup procedures.
• Stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in software development. This includes researching and evaluating new technologies and making recommendations for new tools and techniques that could enhance the organization's IT infrastructure and software systems.
• Install, configure, and maintain software applications used by the organization.
• Provide support to the IT Unit with any issues or inquiries when needed. This includes responding to help desk tickets, providing support for hardware and software issues, updating trackers and documents and assisting with system upgrades and migrations.
