MAJOR FUNCTION(S)
Support Wells Delivery Team in execution of safe and efficient drilling, completions and workover programs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
HSE Accountability
1. Supports implementation of all applicable HSE policies and initiatives.
Drilling Operations
2. Works closely with the drilling engineers in the planning phase of drilling, completions and workover
programs to ensure operational feasibility and efficiency of the programs.
3. Supports the SDE in preparation of the End of Well Report (EOWR).
4. Captures Lessons Learned during operations and ensures the lessons are captured in the EOWR and
implemented in future programs.
5. Supports the Drilling Supervisors and ensures all programs are implemented according to plans in a safe
and efficient manner.
6. Ensures compliance with all Crescent Petroleum’s Standards and the requirements of the subsurface
team.
7. Writes Management of Change (MOC) documents when operational changes are required and ensures
the established MOC process is followed.
8. Communicates effectively to ensure all objectives of the programs, policies and standards are
understood by all concerned parties.
9. Reviews’ equipment planning with Drilling Engineers, Drilling Supervisors and Material & Logistics
Coordinators to ensure timely equipment arrivals and backloading.
10. Performs frequent wellsite visits to ensure programs and procedures are conducted in compliance with
applicable policies.
11. Prepares technical specifications and evaluations during the contracting and procurement process of
drilling tools and services.
12. Conducts and documents operations risk assessments.
13. Ensures all pre-job checklists are completed prior to commencing operations.
Reporting and Budget Control
14. Supports Drilling Superintendent in controlling expenditure.
15. Reports on cost and operational progress against predefined goals.
Leadership
16. Supporting Drilling Superintendent with all leadership efforts to improve team spirit and operational
performance.
Relationships Management
17. Maintains and exhibits excellent working relationships with contractors and Crescent Petroleum’s staff.
Continuous Improvement
18. Stays abreast of current technologies, monitors operational performance against pre-established goals,
and makes/supports recommendations for continuous performance improvement.
Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in petroleum or mechanical engineering preferred. Other credentials can substitute formal
education, subject to Drilling Manager’s approval. Valid well control certificate required.
Minimum Professional Experience Required
Minimum of 10 years of oil field experience. Minimum 5 years in drilling and/or completions engineering
roles.
