Job Summary and Scope of Responsibilities
Ensures smooth efficient running of the CREDAN PTW System. Maintaining integrity and aiming for the
highest standard of Control of Work. Assists the Production Supervisor in all aspects of the coordination and
administration of the CREDAN PTW System. Acting as the focal point for all permit-related activities, to
ensure permits are written to the highest standard, including all supporting documentation and in a timely
manner. Provide guidance to the Performing Authorities, Isolating Authorities and Area Authorities in
maintaining the highest standards. Identifies areas for improvement and communicates to Production
Supervisor and HOD.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coordinates the daily PTW meeting.
2. Ensures that correct timelines are adhered to in the submission of Permits prior to the PTW
meetings.
3. Reviews all submitted PTW and supporting documentation ahead of the PTW Meeting, to ensure
accuracy and sufficiency.
4. Identifies where further information is required and works with Performing Authorities to ensure the
Task is fully described, appropriate supplementary forms are completed, risks and controls identified.
5. Identifies the need for a Level 2 Task Risk Assessment to be carried out and advises Performing
Authorities to organize TRA meeting.
6. Identifies the need for Process/Mechanical/Electrical Isolation.
7. In conjunction with the Lead Operators, ensure suitable isolation certificates are in place, coordinates
the isolation and preparation of equipment for handover to maintenance.
8. Ensures all supporting documentation is included in the PTW: TRA’s, Method Statements, Marked-up
P&ID’s, Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Isolation Certificates, Isolation Deviation certificates,
Excavation Clearance certificates, CSE certificates, Radiography, Vehicle access certificates, Toolbox
Talks.
9. Ensures AGT’s are available for initial and ongoing gas testing where required.
10. Ensures all relevant Signatures are obtained before allowing the PTW to be issued.
11. Identifies High Risk activities (Naked Flame Hot Work in live plant, heavy lifting, Project Tie-ins) and
ensures Ops Superintendent informed and signature is included.
12. Ensures Copies of PTW are displayed in the PTW office and Control Room
13. Maintain accurate Logs, Registers and Records
14. Verify area checks are carried out by Area Operator before closing out of PTW.
15. Ensure that Simultaneous operations are considered prior to issuing Permits within KM400 Plant and
liaise as required with work parties outside of the KM400 plant.
Reporting and Communication
16. Reports directly to the Production Supervisor on all aspects involving PTW.
17. Provides regular guidance to all AA’s, PA’s and IA’s on the workflow and administration of the PTW
System.
Continuous Improvement of Position
Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required
Ideally a Technical trade background and previous experience in a hydrocarbon facility would be suitable.
Technical or HSE Degree is required.
7+ years in a hydrocarbon facility as a Senior Production Operator or Senior HSE Advisor. In-depth knowledge
of PTW systems, Isolation Procedures & Task Risk Assessments. Ability to understand P&ID’s, Isometrics and
Electrical Single Line Diagrams. Understanding of gas testing, excavations, confined space entry, working at
heights, radiography procedures.
Previous experience as a Permit to Work Coordinator would be an advantage
