Job Description: 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS 

The mechanical supervisor shall be responsible for: 

  • In operational phase they will be responsible for all Mechanical planned and corrective maintenance on Khormor installations in accordance with both local and industry standards. 
  • Supervising mechanical maintenance team including planning, review, creation and execution of all mechanically related maintenance activities on Khormor’ s installations in accordance with both local and industry standards. Lead the troubleshooting and fault finding on static and rotating equipment/systems.  
  • Managing all mechanical maintenance resources, including contractors, spare parts and contributing to maintenance budget development 
  • Ensuring maintenance KPI’s are achieved. 
  • Reporting on maintenance activities and leading RCFA’s as required 
  • Ensuring that team HSE KPIs’ are met and driving HSE Performance 
  • Leading continuous improvement in their discipline area 
  • Managing obsolescence in their discipline area 

 

Qualifications & requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  

Work Responsibilities and Planning  

  • Directs all mechanical maintenance activities at Khormor LPG recovery plant. 
  • Understand technical Governmental and Company rules, regulations and procedures. 
  • Understand Khormor’s maintenance strategy and philosophy and participates in the development/ implementation of condition monitoring procedures/routines. 
  • Supervises application for work permits and understands and implements the permit conditions prior to commencement of work. 
  • Develops risk assessments, leads safety and toolbox meetings. 
  • Acts as a team-player in the multifunctional operations and maintenance team. 
  • Promotes HSE culture. 
  • Utilize troubleshooting skills to solve mechanical and related problems both independently and in liaison with other departments. 
  • Supervises third party inspections, where applicable. 
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of static and rotating equipment. 
  • Lead the development and implementation of procedures and work instructions for the completion of mechanical related tasks. 
  • Checks the functionality of equipment and measuring instruments. 
  • Conversant with CMMS (SAP preferable or similar system such as Maximo) including preparation of material requisition and work order management and materials and warehousing. 
  • Communicates with vendors and supply chain for technical support. 
  • Assists in recruiting, mentoring, training, and appraising maintenance personnel. 
  • Ensures that plant and equipment is maintained according to compliance and integrity standards in order to meet expected reliability and ‘uptime’ Key Performance Indicators. 
  • Liaises closely with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams in activity planning, MOC development and cost control. 
  • Ensures that all activities are accurately recorded in the maintenance management system, providing all necessary reports. 
  • Reports to the Maintenance Superintendent –on all issues relating to mechanical department. 
  • Completes and Records Proof Testing of Safety & Environmental Critical Equipment (SECE) to ensure that it is operating in compliance with its Performance Standard.  Ensures that any failures are recorded and that remedial work is completed in a timely manner.  
  • Ensures that Plant and Equipment is maintained according to compliance and integrity standards to meet expected reliability and ‘uptime’ Key Performance Indicators.  
  • Ensures that all activities are fully and accurately recorded in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (SAP). 
  • Ensures that all Plant and Equipment changes are fully and accurately recorded in the CMMS. 
  • Ensures that all Maintenance Procedures are present, accurate and updated in the CMMS. 
  • Ensures that all spares information, including equipment and task BOMs are present, accurate and updated in the CMMS. 
  • Works with the Planning Team to prepare weekly, bi-weekly and monthly work and manpower planning and scheduling within the CMMS. 
  • Works with the Planning Team to prepare Work including Task Lists, spares requirements and support services within the CMMS. 
  • Works with the Planning Team and maintenance superintendent to manage the Work Backlog 
  • Collects data related to equipment health. Proposes improvements to risk-based inspection and condition monitoring of equipment and supports the Reliability team to conduct and improve equipment reliability programs. 
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to trainee, junior and technician level personnel. 
  • Required to have in-depth knowledge of Centrifugal Pumps, Reciprocating pumps, Centrifugal gas compressors, Reciprocating compressors, Gas engines Caterpillar and Waukesha, Screw compressors, Instrument Air compressors, Nitrogen compressors, dry gas seals, mechanical seals, PSV’s and valves 

 

Reporting and Communication 

  • Reports to the Maintenance Superintendent on all issues relating own responsibilities. 
  • Participates in department daily meetings and reports on all activities  
  • Exhibits and maintains excellent working relationships with all CreDan staff, Contractors and Vendors. 
  • Liaises closely with Production Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams in activity planning, engineering change and cost control. 
  • Communicates with equipment vendors and outside suppliers for technical support. 

 

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS, PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Mechanical engineering qualification preferable. 
  • At least 12 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry. With 5 years in a similar supervisory role 
  • Preferred candidate with hands on experience in rotating and static equipment. 
  • Fully experienced in working with safety management systems and a basic understanding of local safety management legislation. 
  • In-depth understanding of Oil & Gas production equipment, processes, and utility systems 
  • Experience of Caterpillar / Waukesha Gas engines, Reciprocating and Centrifugal Gas Compressors, Turbo-expanders preferrable. 
  • Excellent experience in a CMMS system, SAP preferred. 
  • Experience in Pre commissioning , commissioning and start up is an advantage for a candidate
