Contract length 10 Months can be extended.
Purpose:
As part of CP and Psychosocial support project focusing on provision of Community based child protection to conflict
affected boys and girls in Sinjar city and Dohuk in Iraq. SOSD is working to mitigate the consequences of CP in conflicts
and support the displaced boys and girls to overcome their trauma, through Psychosocial Support Units and CP Mobile
Team. SOSD is therefore looking for Meal Assistant to work under aforementioned project.
The Meal Assistant will report to Meal officer
Key Areas of Responsibility
• Collect data and routinely monitor project implementation.
• Pilot and support in the contextualization of data collection tools.
• Undertake regular field visits to assist field staff with data reporting issues.
• Support in ensuring data quality of routine monitoring and evaluation data.
• Assist the MEAL Officer to ensure the databases are accurate representations of program performance across
program activities.
• Assist in training staff on monitoring checklists and guidelines to measure the performance and track progresses.
• Support program field staff in the collection of activity- and output-level monitoring data during activity
implementation.
• Participate in baseline and end line survey studies, as well as any other regular needs assessment to continually
provide information and latest developments.
• Compile and share monthly tabular and narrative updates on the Response Program.
• Assist with trainings as needed for programs on the use of MEAL tools.
• Work with program teams to set up appropriate and functional community feedback mechanisms.
• Assist /ensure complaints and feedback are collected, recorded in a database, reviewed timely, tracked, and
shared with MEAL/Program teams for a timely response, while updating the monthly accountability dashboard.
• Support the documentation and sharing of program results, ensuring sharing of lessons learnt and good
practices.
• Respect and adhere to SOSD Child Safe Guarding Policy
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
• 3 years relevant experience in field work on the issues related to MEAL Work
• At least 2 years specific MEAL Assistant work.
• Previous experience in a similar position with international or national organizations or government authorities
• Fluent in written and spoken in Arabic also English is preferable.
• Knowledge of Child Protection standards and procedures
• Good understanding of the local context especially of the IDP/ Returnees situations in Iraq
• Ability to travel independently, including to rural communities and work long hours in project operational area.
• Ability to multitask, handle pressure, improvise, and be a good team player.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

by the (SOSD) and represent the organisation in a loyal and responsible manner.
