Job Description

Shareteah Humanitarian Organization (SHO) is an Iraqi National NGO promoting safety & development through mine action and explosive ordnance risk education (EORE)awareness, and clearance of mines, explosives and remnants of war.to assistance for people affected by armed conflict. Founded in 2016, SHO has organized & executed programs throughout Iraq. including the provinces of Nineveh, Duhok, Kirkuk, Tikrit, Anbar, and Baghdad. It currently holds offices in Duhok and Mosul.

Qualifications & requirements

The IT/Communication Assistant supports the SHO’s digital communication efforts by managing and updating the website, maintaining social media platforms, and creating engaging content. Additionally, the role provides basic IT support, including troubleshooting laptops, managing office internet, and printer setup. The position ensures that SHOs online presence is consistent, up-to-date, and accessible while supporting the smooth operation of digital tools and systems. This role reports to the Grants Manager and collaborates with various teams to align digital communication with organizational objectives.

  • Maintain and regularly update SHO’s website content (news, projects, events) to ensure optimal performance, accessibility, and security.
  • Manage and update social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), developing and scheduling engaging content (posts, images, videos).
  • Monitor social media trends, track engagement metrics, and report on web traffic and social media performance.
  • Assist in creating blog posts, newsletters, and reports to increase visibility of SHO’s work.
  • Ensure consistent branding and high standards across all platforms.
  • Support the creation of multimedia content (videos, graphics).
  • Troubleshoot basic IT issues such as laptop, printer, and software problems, and manage office internet connectivity.
  • Provide technical support to staff, including resolving laptop and printer issues.
  • Coordinate with external partners (developers, designers) as necessary.
  • Assist teams in aligning digital content with organizational goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date communication procedures, ensuring staff use correct templates, fonts, and formats.
  • Adhere to SHO’s Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy to maintain community trust and uphold ethical standards.
  • Support the project manager in design visibility material such as banner, post and signs
  • Support the grants in preparation for networking events local and international events
  • Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the Line Manager to support the organization's goals. 
  • Other Requirements: 

    • Proficiency in English, Arabic, and Kurdish, both spoken and written, is required.
    • Strong computer skills are essential.
    • Experience in managing websites and social media platforms.
    • Proficiency in design applications like Canva.
    • Experience in graphic design.
