A. Develop, implement, and monitor the factory’s HSE policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory and industry requirements.
B. Conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and implement mitigation plans.
C. Lead accident/incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and preventive actions.
D. Oversee site inspections, safety audits, and compliance checks across all plant operations.
E. Coordinate regular HSE training and awareness programs for staff and contractors.
F. Maintain up-to-date records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
G. Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and used correctly.
H. Collaborate with department heads to enforce safe work practices.
I. Monitor environmental aspects of operations, including emissions, waste management, and spill response.
J. Interface with local regulatory authorities and ensure timely submission of compliance documentation.
K. Develop and lead emergency response plans and regular drills.
L. Promote a culture of continuous safety improvement throughout the factory.
M. Keep abreast of industry HSE trends and incorporate best practices.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
i. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (required).
ii. NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification (required).
iii. Minimum 7 years of experience in HSE roles, including 3+ years in a managerial capacity in a manufacturing or steel production environment.
iv. In-depth knowledge of OSHA, ISO 45001, and environmental regulations.
v. Experience with HSE documentation systems and audits.
