Position Summary:

The main responsibility of the Drilling Supervisor will be to supervise drilling, testing, workover and completion activities at night, assuring that all the operations conform to the Company plan and are being carried out safely, efficiently and economically, managing manpower, rig, material supplies and stocks, resolving difficulties which could otherwise delay the drilling progress.

• Effective, efficient and safe drilling and completion operations in accordance with the company supplied program and International Oil Field Practices & Specifications.
• Safety of personnel, equipment and material at rig and campsites.  Responsible for health and safety procedures being continually enforced and makes necessary decisions in emergency situations.
• Reports any issues, incidents, accidents or other non-planned events to the Senior Drilling Supervisor immediately.
• Develop and maintain good relations and communications with other company personnel, contractor personnel and local residents around the work area.
• Provide support and input into future programs and upcoming work plans to ensure program optimization.

 

Key Activities:

The Drilling Supervisor will carry out the following key activities during his duty in the field and at the rig site:

• Ensuring contractor personnel, services and material, are available at rig site when required so to avoid any delay in operations.
• Supervising drilling and completion operations at night carried out by Company’s and contractor’s personnel at rig site.
• Supports Senior Drilling Supervisor monitoring critical operations carried out during the well.
• Ensuring critical equipment is in suitable condition for the upcoming operation.
• Coordinating drilling and completion activities in accordance with program, Company procedures and best practices.
• Ensuring accurate and detailed reports are kept/submitted covering all aspects of the operation including but not limited to HSE, operations, costs, rental equipment, look ahead, etc.
• Monitoring the consumptions and stock of materials available at rig site and request personnel, materials, and services in due time in order to avoid any delay in the operations.
• Ensuring that drilling and completion operations are carried out safely, with good oilfield practice and in accordance with program and all the relevant Company standards and HSE Procedures.

 

The Drilling Supervisor shall have the basic knowledge and professional skill in the following drilling and completion activities:

Drilling Activities:

Drilling operation (including fishing, coring etc), drilling fluids service, solids control and waste management, cement and cementing service including design and execution, well control operations, directional drilling, casing running and design, wellhead installation, mud logging, wire line logging and any other operational aspect.

Completion Activities:

Completion activity and work over operation, well testing (oil), well testing (gas), perforating techniques, completion and workovers.
