Contract length
11 Months can be extended.
Purpose:
As part of CP and Psychosocial support project focusing on provision of Community based child protection to conflict
affected boys and girls in Sinjar city in Iraq and DHK camps. SOSD is working to mitigate the consequences of CP in
conflicts and support the displaced boys and girls to overcome their trauma, through Psychosocial Support Units/ CBCP
centres or/and CP Mobile Team, in addition to; engaging the community leaders and stakeholders to provision of
community based child protection in North Iraq – Kurdistan region and Ninawa. SOSD is therefore looking for
caseworker to work under aforementioned project.
The caseworker will report to case management supervisor
Key Areas of Responsibility
Case Management:
• Support and conduct counselling and general case management services for CBCP in Duhok and Ninawa.
• Ensure regular monitoring with follow-up and reviews progress of children and youths cases.
• Ensures implementation case management process, referrals, follow-up and case closures (if and when
appropriate) in a timely manner.
• Prepare reports of home visits as well as psychosocial counselling conducted and submits it to case
management supervisor .
• Prepare monthly individual work plan and submit to case management supervisor .
• Offer awareness on various CP topics together with PSS Facilitator.
• Ensuring a timely refer from CBCP to the most appropriate services available (medical care, mental health and
psychosocial support, legal counselling and assistance, safe shelter, education and livelihood opportunities)
according to their needs.
• Report work in a biweekly and monthly manner to case management supervisor and keep CPIMS+ data updated.
Support to CBCP centres:
• Conduct needs assessment
• Conduct Best Interest Assessments for unaccompanied or separated children
• Develop in collaboration with the team, individual case management action plans
• Conduct home visits with assigned area as per approved monthly work plan.
• Develop services mapping and functional referral pathways.
• Facilitate, collect and report information regarding the overall situation of vulnerable and women and girls at
risk. This is the same as in the community outreach worker.
• Build and maintain partnerships and collaboration with other CP partners and relevant stakeholders.
• Carry out any other tasks assigned by Psychologist/Supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications & requirements

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
• University degree in Sociology, Psychology, social work and at least one year relevant area work experience.
• Preferably, good experience in case managing work in general and CP case management in particular.
• Written & verbal proficiency in Arabic and Kurdish language also English is preferable.
• Good computer skills.
• Good understanding of the local context especially of the IDP/ Returnees situations in Iraq
• Understanding of humanitarian Response, especially protection concepts & approaches.
• Good interpersonal skills, good communication, organizational & analytical skills & ability to work well in a team.
• Good report writing skills, preferably in English.
• Familiarity of monitoring & evaluation tools & documents is preferable.
• Ability to travel independently, including to rural communities and work long hours in project operational area.
• Ability to multitask, handle pressure, improvise, and be a good team player.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

the (SOSD) and represent the organisation in a loyal and responsible manner.
