Job Summary He/she develops & establish the administrative, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, clinical performance compliance and operational functions of the dietary department. Responsible on staffing concerns, collaborating on resource utilization, resolving performance management issues, as well as managing clinical activities. Duties and Responsibilities Develops, implements and updates internal policies and procedures. Establishes and maintains communication with medical nursing and administration concerning the nutrition related issues. Directs and coordinates activities of Clinical Nutrition staff. Develops quality standard of nutritional care. Controls department resource through appropriate planning, utilization, evaluation and data analysis. Approves menu changes in collaboration with Food Services. Maintains JCI standards. Represents the department on hospital committees, as assigned. Updates job descriptions, as necessary. Monitors all department activities. Completes annual evaluation of Nutrition Services staff. Selects applicants for Nutrition Services positions and ensures achievement of accreditation and licensing. Evaluates staff and trains new staff. Interacts with Support Services to maintain stocks of nutrition supplies, recruits employment candidates, coordinates meal service and other issues as they arise. Facilitates Nutrition Services Performance Improvement projects. Evaluates the quality, safety and appropriateness of all department functions. Approves patient educational materials. Functions as a therapeutic Dietitian in inpatient and/or outpatient clinics. Maintains preferable growth and development Ensures compliance with the hospital mission Dedicates 35% of time to participate in clinical/technical duties. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education Master’s Degree in Food and Nutrition with specialization preferred. Skills & Qualifications Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work under pressure. Computer literate. Proficient in English and Arabic. French is a plus Experience Three (3) years of experience as hospital Clinical Dietitian including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity. Working conditions & Physical requirements Physical Demands & Working Conditions Work environment is located in a comfortable indoor area. Vision, hearing, talking, and sense of touch abilities must be adequate to enable one to quickly and accurately perform tasks such as reading small print, reading from monitoring equipment, defining details, sending and receiving clear and accurate oral messages.
